I'm the Bride, That's Why

My Bachelorette Weekend was everything I had hoped for. Hiking, Fine Dining, Family, Friends, Views, and lots and lots and lots of wine.

Mama, Jane, and I went up on Thursday and spent the night chatting over gumbo. We laughed so hard that one of us peed her pants (this person shall remain anonymous.) On Friday we woke up and drove to one of the most beautiful spots named after a family I nannied for during my years on the mountain. And I skinny-dipped for what will probably be my last time as a single lady. It was cold, but SO exhilarating!
Brooke, Kate, and Meg arrived Friday afternoon, just in time for drinks on the deck. We missed Blair & Sarah (our other female cousins), but we managed to have a great time. Kate made us these headbands out of ribbon from presents I received at my bridal shower. Craftiness runs in the family, right?
This photo pretty much sums up the feeling I have while I'm in Sewanee. Complete and total relaxation. Who wouldn't be relaxed with this view, though, right?
On Saturday I took my female family on a tour of the campus. Can you believe I spent four whole years walking around this beautiful campus?! And seriously, I promise you that I NEVER took it for granted. Here's a view of the Quad from Walsh-Ellett (where I had all my religion and history courses.)
This is Guerry Garth where concerts and plays are held. The office at the top of the clock tour belonged to my advisor during my time at Sewanee. When I studied in Oxford I had the privilege of seeing the EXACT SAME clock tour at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford. The architecture at Sewanee was modeled after that at Oxford, so even though I was far away from home, I never felt TOO far away.
And there was some of this, too. I had hoped that I would get out of the embarrassing boa-type behavior common amongst those about to be wed, but alas, Aimee and Stephanie arrived just in time to make sure I was sufficiently embarrassing looking.
CHEERS! At Shenanigans!
The crowd!

So yes, I returned from the weekend feeling a little sad that one more milestone leading up to the big day had come and gone. I mean, you only get ONE Bachelorette Party, right? I successfully turned mine into a weekend, but still.

Motion

Flip picked last week's theme: motion. Good thing I had a great opportunity to get some fun dancing shots during Aimee's bachelorette party last Friday night. Aimee's cousin had a deer in the headlights look when we all started cutting up. Aimee pulled her aside and said, "Our wedding will be 16 times crazier than this."
