This is the natural spring that is pumping water into the lake. It will take about a year to reach full capacity. A couple of catfish are already residing in the lake, but Daddy has a call into the DNR to get it stocked with fish in the next month. Within a few years the fish will be the perfect size for the grandchild to catch.
Here's a little diagram to show where everything's going to be. You can see the water line will reach to the point where the flag is in the foreground and also where the grass starts. The dock will float and not need to be removed during the winter.

this is super cool! my dad is wanting to make a similar project on our "farm" Our spring already makes it way down a hill and into a creek... but we are trying to figure a way to make a pond (probably from a different spring) We call the spring "Alex's Spring" (there is also another one calle "Grayben Spring for my nephew) We keep a dipper hung on a tree to get the fresh water when we are out playing in the woods either walking or on the 4 wheelers. I bet you could get some gorgeous pictures out there! I cant wait to see more pictures as your lake gets larger.
It is going to be even more beautiful than it is already! Your parents (along with you guys)are going to love it so much!
